Twitter’s new warning to users: “Don’t use those words”

Against offensive language and fake news the social network tests another “weapon”: the warning before publishing a tweet that does not respect the standards

The new function – It is a “limited experiment” on the iPhone and iPad, explains the company, which aims to push people to backtrack when they are about to post an offensive and capable of igniting comment.

If the user is writing a text with offensive words, he will see a “suggestion that gives the possibility to review the answer before it is published, if it uses language that could be harmful”, reads a company tweet.

Twitter’s move is not a real novelty in the social world. From July Instagram started to warn users about to post “potentially offensive” comments. However, the user can decide to ignore the suggestion and publish the message without changing it.
