We know everything and nothing about the father of psychoanalysis. Freud, Netflix series from 23 March, seems to want to exploit this ambivalence by placing a real figure in a fictitious context. The series is an eight-episode mystery thriller directed by Marvin Kren, in which a young Sigmund Freud collaborates with a medium and a police inspector to solve some murder cases in Vienna in 1886.

A few weeks ago the official Netflix YouTube channel released the trailer that garnered widespread acclaim. The trailer currently has over 600,000 views.
The protagonist of the series is obviously Sigmund Freud, one of the most famous, revolutionary and influential personalities of the last millennium, whose clothes were covered by the German actor Robert Finster. These are the titles of the eight episodes: “Hysteria”, “Trauma”, “Sleepwalking”, “Totem and taboo”, “Desire”, “Regression”, “Catharsis” and “Removal”.
Freud: the plot
The TV series stars a young and willing Sigmund Freud in search of his affirmation in 19th-century Vienna. The life of the protagonist is intertwined with the case of a serial killer who is upsetting the city, a medium and an inspector accompany him in search of his identity between twists and unexpected events.
This is the official plot on the Netflix: “Determined to make a name for himself in 19th century Vienna, a young and ambitious Sigmund Freud teams up with a medium and an inspector to clear up a series of bloody mysteries. ”
Regarding the cast, alongside the protagonist we find Christoph Krutzler, Philipp Hochmair, Philipp Hochmair, Brigitte Kren, Georg Friedrich and Anja Kling.
